Today's Progress
We had our first multiplayer test with the gravity boots and rock monster characters! Micah recorded the action as we performed our acrobatic space feats and will have the video up shortly!

Today's Progress! (May 29th)
More work on the character's gravity boots and a refinement of the low-poly collision meshes when interacting with prefabs. The materials window in the editor has also been revamped and uses a tag search system that will make sorting and finding materials much easier!

Today's Progress!
Zack's corrected the prefabs in the material bar so they appear correctly, fixed the black screen of death screen in multiplayer, and added some new server commands ( kick, pass, public, unlisted, lan ) among several other fixes and cleanups!
We've also added "Gravity Boots" to allow you have a basic form of artificial gravity on the surface of a ship; a fall back with ships without gravity plating, and a temporary way to interact with ships until the gravity plating is up and running.
Watch the new character gravity and physics in action in the video below!
You use the "Q" / "E" roll-over technique the same as in the editor to flip your character and to point the gravity boots in the different directions, and if you find yourself outside the entity, you can hold left-click to use your "Sonic Screwdriver" (haven't fully decided on the name of it just yet!) to pull yourself back towards the ship!

Today's Progress!
Gabe and I assisted Nathan today in testing the new character movement engine. It's working very well for smaller characters (like our 1.2m Rock Monster), but we might hold off 1.75m characters a bit until we get the physics responding properly to their size!
I hadn't been able to finish up the mockup of changes we're making to material bar interface in the editor, so we'll have to see about tomorrow on the actual image!
A few notes on the changes however:
- The "remove" pill has been removed
- We're going to add a slider and a drop-down box for navigating the list of materials and its subcategories instead of the individual graphical buttons for the subcategories.
- We're going to make the six main categories at the top of the materials window be, "Frames | Plating | Interiors | Glass | Parts | Decor" to make common items easier to get to.
The drop-down combo box now being used to select sub categories (with the default option being "All") will allow for separate sub-categories such as "Engines", "Weapons" under the main "Parts" category, etc.
In addition, all of the items will be easier for us to modify and move around in the future, so we'll be able to adjust accordingly. I'm not sure on immediate .XML modding capability, but I'll ask Gabe about it!
( Anybody else think of the Marx Bros. "Sanity Clause" with all that? ;D )

Today's Progress!
Code's been moved from an a previous character movement test into Blockade Runner, and so we're very close now to having some initial tests of walking around within a ship as something aside from a green blob!
Gabe's and my priority for Week 61 are going to be restoring Lite edition functionality, and so I'd like to share with y'all tomorrow a screenshot or two of some of the quick changes we're thinking about to streamline some of the editor's features and to get your feedback.
Oh, and DON'T FORGET TO VOTE on new features if you haven't already!

Today's Progress!
Mostly cleanup work on the physics and some preparations made to restore "Lite" version functionality into Blockade Runner.
We also did a revamped multiplayer video for version 0.59.1d of Blockade Runner. Give it a look below!
Don't Forget To Vote!
If you haven't voted already, please be sure to vote on the items you feel would benefit Blockade Runner the most!
Below are some visually descriptive examples of a few of the items up for vote!
